How We Are Different
Here at Off The Top we do things quite differently than what you may be used to at the typical salon or barbershop. This shop is a SPECIALIZED SHOP that specializes in choosing styles to fit a person, not by forcing a “fad”, but rather customizing the look for the individual. I believe that everyone is a unique person, with unique features, and that all cuts and styles should be Custom to fit you and no one else! That may not be everyone's cup of tea and that is perfectly fine, I knew that when designing this business model, but it is designed for those individuals looking for a HIGHEND AND CUSTOM look that absolutely will fit them perfectly.
It's great when a customer has some ideas of what they like, however remember this: you can't order a cut or style like a burger at a fast food restaurant. For example: you are looking online and you see a pic of a cut or style you like and then ask for that style. Fact is, it may work for you, but then again it may not, honestly, it probably won't. The person in the picture is not you! He doesn't have the same hair texture, the same face shape, or bone structure; he doesn't have the same cowlicks, wave patterns or growth patterns; he doesn't have the same hairline, jawline or neck line, density, etc...
With that said, what I do at Off The Top, is I look at your hair and it's textures and density, your face, bones, etc. and then I make suggestions of what we can do that will work for your unique hair, face shape, and other features, in or to deliver balance and symmetry to your look. Everything I do is CUSTOM - I don't "cut by numbers." Example: I'll take a #2 on the sides please. Do you want some fries with that #2 sir? Yikes! No way José! Not here! Here, everyone is an individual with their own biology and mojo. So to sum it up, I give a personalized result fitting for who you are and no one else.
Here at Off The Top we do it right. We don't cut corners. Here I would rather lose a single client than sacrifice the reputation and integrity of my shop by delivering anything but a high-end and professional result. At Off The Top we elevate even the most basic of styles. Even a simple style can be elevated to exceptional when done by an expert master craftsman and artist. Off The Top also believes you should be well equipped. If you can't replicate what we do when we style your finished look, then what is the point? We will teach you how to identify the right styling products and how to use them according to design; also instructing you on how proper styling techniques can actually save time and money, giving you the right results every time.
We will educate you on proper haircare and the quality of the products we use, such as shampoo and conditioner and why it's imperative to the results of your cut, and un-educate you on hair myths, propaganda, and gimmick! We will teach you how to buy and where to buy. We will teach you the real science and biology of hair. Here we like empowering clients with the CORRECT knowledge to manage your style, skin and hair. We want to improve your accuracy and consistency, while minimizing time, cost and frustration.
Simply put, we will impart the wisdom and skills needed to maintain the health and vitality of your hair, while also teaching you how to style it to perfection in a professional way every time in a practical and non-time consuming way (If at all possible).
